Pastor David King
Rev. David D. M. King has been pastor of Spirit of Grace since July 2014. A United Methodist clergyperson, Pastor David is excited to be serving a joint congregation that is both United Methodist and Lutheran (ELCA). “With so much division in Christ’s church, I’m glad that we are coming together here for a common mission.” An Oregon native, he is glad to be back living in the Pacific Northwest with wife, Melissa, and children, Karthik, Kiahla, and Kaylah. David is currently working on a PhD in New Testament and Early Christianity at the University of Denver and Iliff School of Theology, focussing on issues of wealth and poverty in the Gospel of Luke. He also serves as a chaplain in the Civil Air Patrol.
Jennifer Fowler is the office manager at Spirit of Grace, also inputing member giving and creating weekly bulletins. She has worked here for about 6 years and has been a member for 13 years. Jennifer lives in Hood River with her husband and 2 children. They enjoy camping, hiking, and kayaking.
The newest staff member at Spirit of Grace, Susan Randolph has been serving as Volunteer Coordinator for the FISH Food Bank Garden since April 2015. A Boston, MA native, Susan graduated from Vassar College in 2012 with a BA in Environmental Studies and a passion for Indigenous environmental justice. After several years spent living and working on the Navajo reservation in northeastern Arizona, she moved to the Pacific Northwest to build her skills as an organizer and learn more about organic farming. As volunteer coordinator, Susan is partnering with members of the congregation as well as local organizations to grow fresh, organic produce for the FISH Food Bank and connect needy members of the community more directly with their food sources. When she is not at the “FISH Garden,” Susan enjoys playing music, going for hikes, and helping to grow an extensive subsistence farm where she lives off-the-grid with a small community of naturalists.
