“GOD IS LOVE. And, those who love, live in God and God lives in them.”

- 1 John 4:16

We are now proud to call ourselves an Open & Affirming congregation, and are registered with our denominational organizations:

Reconciling in Christ (ELCA)

ReconcilingWorks: Lutherans for Full Participation
has advocated for the full welcome, inclusion, and equity of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and asexual/aromantic (LGBTQIA+) Lutherans in all aspects of the life of their Church, congregations, and community.

Community Outreach + Activism

Spirit of Grace is proud to partner with our fellow Open & Affirming Churches in the Columbia Gorge in showing up for and serving the LGBTQIA+ community! We show up at Pride events with a collaborative resource and activity table, where you can come to receive a Rainbow Blessing, make your own button, add to the Rainbow Prayer installation, learn about Open & Affirming resources, and so much more – our table grows every year! We are also committed to supporting the LGBTQIA+ community year-round, and together seek to provide a variety of worship spaces and faith experiences where the LGBTQIA+ is loved and celebrated.

Ritual Action + Art Installation

“Let justice flow like a river, and righteousness flow like an unfailing stream.” Amos 5:24

When Spirit of Grace celebrated our commitment to being an Open & Affirming church, we created a Rainbow Waterfall, filled with our prayers of love and hope for the LGBTQIA+ community. This Rainbow Waterfall has now become the Rainbow Prayer Installation, which travels with us every year to Pride where it continues to grow.

Acceptance + Safety

If you are looking to learn more about what it means to be an Open & Affirming Church, or how Faith and Queerness are complimentary rather than contradictory, please check out our resource list! Pastor Miranda is also available as a resource to the local LGBTQIA+ community - you can set up a time to meet with her one-on-one by filling out our contact form.
